Winners of the 2020-21 Vocal Scholarships

Houston's oldest opera company, The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Houston, has awarded over $100,000 in scholarships to students over the years. The G&S Society of Houston's Vocal Scholarships are open to currently-enrolled vocal undergraduates. Thank you to all who applied. The winners for 2020-21 are:

First Place - $1000

Audrey Welsh, Mezzo-Soprano
Student of Melanie Sonnenberg at The Moores School of Music at the University of Houston

Second Place - $500

Julia Stuart, Soprano
Student of Amy Burton at the Mannes College of Music at The New School in New York City
