H.M.S. Pinafore is both a rollicking satire and a love story across social classes. A sailor falls in love with his captain's daughter but can't tell her due to his lowly station. At the same time, the First Lord of the Admiralty, a high-ranking man who's never been to sea, seeks the daughter's hand for himself.
